Content ideas: Opportunities and News
Last updated:
Never run out of things to say
Two tools help you decide what to write about next:
- Opportunities (Marketing, Campaigns, Opportunities) suggests content ideas based on what people already search for and the news in your industry, and drafts the content for you.
- News (Marketing, Intelligence, News) watches topics you care about so you can react while a story is still fresh.
Opportunities
Where the ideas come from
Chorum looks at the searches where you appear but few people click (from Google Search Console) and the news topics you watch, then asks Claude to turn them into ranked content ideas. Each idea shows its Evidence, so you can see exactly why it was suggested, and a badge showing its source.
New ideas are generated automatically every Monday morning. Choose Generate now for a fresh set at any time.
For the best results, connect Search Console first (see Google Search Console) and watch a few topics in News (below).
Turn an idea into content
- Read the idea and its evidence. Ignore anything that does not fit your business.
- Choose Draft this, or pick the format you want: Draft broadcast, Draft landing page or Draft social post.
- Chorum creates a draft in that format, written in your brand voice. Open it, edit it and publish or send it in the usual way.
Drafts are only a starting point. Add your own examples, opinions and details; that is what makes content worth reading and worth ranking.
News
Connect a news source
News needs a news provider. Go to Marketing, Settings, News providers, choose a provider and paste its API key. There are free options (NewsAPI, GNews and The Guardian) and a paid one (Bing). Each provider shows Configured or Not connected.
Watch topics
- Go to Marketing, Intelligence, News.
- Type a keyword to watch, for example "UK budget cybersecurity", and pin it.
- Chorum pulls the last seven days of articles for each topic and refreshes them every night. Use the refresh button for an instant update.
- Choose the market that matches your audience, for example United Kingdom (EN) or United States (EN).
The page also shows live trending news topics, refreshed every few minutes, when your provider supports them.
Use the news
- Write a quick social post giving your take on a story your customers will care about.
- Add a "what this means for you" section to your next newsletter.
- Watched topics also feed Opportunities, so relevant stories turn into content ideas automatically.
Requirements
Opportunities and the drafting tools use Claude. If you see Claude API key required, AI has not been set up for your workspace yet; contact your administrator or Chorum support.
