Your personal AI connection
Last updated:
How it works
Your personal AI connection gives you one connector URL for your AI assistant. It covers every module an admin has given you access to (for example Marketing, Helpdesk or CRM), and the tools your assistant sees match exactly that access. There is nothing to set up per module.
For a key limited to one customer's marketing, see Per-customer AI keys for agencies instead.
Step 1: get access (admin)
An organisation admin decides who can connect an AI assistant and what it can reach:
- Go to Settings, Cowork / MCP Access.
- For each person, tick the modules and the access level (read, or read and write) they may use over MCP. For marketing drafting, give Marketing with write access.
- Save.
Only modules that are switched on for your organisation appear here.
Step 2: generate your key
- Open your Profile.
- Find AI / Cowork connection. It lists the capabilities you have been granted. If it says you do not have access yet, ask an admin to do Step 1.
- Choose Generate my key. Your key is shown once: copy it now.
- Copy the Connector URL shown underneath. It already includes your key and ends in
/api/mcp/rpc?key=pk_....
Step 3: add the connector
Claude (Cowork, claude.ai or Claude Desktop)
- Open Settings, Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it "Chorum" and paste your connector URL.
- Leave the OAuth fields blank and choose Add.
Cursor and other MCP clients
Add an MCP server with your connector URL as its url. See Connecting Claude and other AI assistants to Marketing for an example.
Step 4: try it
Start a new conversation and ask something simple, such as "Show me my five most recent email broadcasts". Then try a draft: "Write a short LinkedIn post about our new service and save it as a draft." You will find the draft in Chorum, ready to review.
Changing or replacing your key
- Choose Regenerate key in your Profile to get a new one, for example if the old one may have leaked. The old key stops working immediately, so update every connector with the new URL.
- If an admin changes your access, the tools your assistant sees change too. Refresh or reconnect the connector to pick up new tools.
Troubleshooting
- Request for an OAuth Client ID: the URL reached Chorum without a working key. Paste the complete URL again, then delete and re-add the connector.
- Marketing tools missing: you have not been granted Marketing, or Marketing is switched off for your organisation. Ask an admin.
- Assistant cannot create drafts: you have read access only. Ask an admin for write access.
