Scheduling social media posts
Last updated:
What you can do
Write a post once and publish it to LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Facebook and Instagram, straight away or at a time you choose. You can tailor the caption for each platform, add images, and see engagement for each post afterwards.
Step 1: connect your accounts
- Go to Marketing, Settings, Social accounts.
- On the card for the platform you want, choose Connect new and sign in to that platform when asked. Approve the permissions it requests.
- Repeat for each platform.
What each platform connects to:
- LinkedIn: posts to a LinkedIn Company Page that you administer. If you manage more than one page, pick the one to post as under Publishing as. Use Refresh pages if a page you have just been made an admin of does not appear.
- X (Twitter): posts from the user account you sign in with. Chorum keeps the connection refreshed so scheduled posts keep working.
- Meta (Facebook + Instagram): posts to a Facebook Page and its linked Instagram Business account. Pick the page under Publishing as.
The accounts table shows each connection, when it was connected and when its sign-in expires. If a connection stops working, disconnect it and connect again. Scheduled posts to a disconnected account fail until you reconnect it.
Your sign-in details for each platform are stored encrypted.
Step 2: write a post
- Go to Marketing, Content, Social Media and create a new post (or choose Schedule a social post on the Marketing Overview).
- Under Platforms, pick where it should go.
- Write the Caption. The Shared (default) caption goes to every platform. To change the wording for one platform, open its tab and write a custom caption; the others keep the shared one.
- Add a Feature image and any Additional media from your device or the Media Library.
- Check the live preview on the right, which shows how the post will look on each platform and whether it uses the shared or a custom caption.
Let AI suggest a caption
Choose AI suggest next to the caption. In AI social-post suggestions, pick the platform, describe what the post is about (the angle, audience or product), and generate. You get three different angles; click one to insert it, then edit it to make it yours. Suggestions follow your brand kit.
Step 3: publish or schedule
- Publish now posts straight away.
- To post later, tick Schedule for later, pick the date and time, then choose Schedule.
- Save as draft keeps the post without publishing so you or a colleague can finish it later.
If a scheduled post cannot be published (for example because the platform was briefly unavailable), Chorum retries it automatically.
Track your posts
The Social posts list shows every post with its platforms, status, when it was scheduled or sent, and its engagement. Engagement figures are refreshed from the platforms regularly through the day. Filter by status or platform, or search for a post.
Scheduled posts also appear on Campaigns, Calendar, where you can drag them to another day.
Platform tips
- Instagram does not make links in captions clickable. Chorum warns you if your caption has a link; write something like "link in bio" instead.
- X has a short character limit, so use a custom caption there if your shared caption is long.
- LinkedIn rewards posts that start a conversation. Ask a question or share a lesson rather than only announcing something.
- Attach posts to a campaign so their engagement counts towards the campaign's results. See Running a campaign.
