Marketing reports and ROI

Where to see results
Marketing has three places to see how you are doing, all under Marketing, Intelligence:
- Reports: one page with email, social, list, search and website results together.
- ROI: the business side, linking marketing activity to conversions and won deals.
- Alerts: notifications when something changes, such as a keyword moving or an A/B test finishing.
Individual broadcasts, campaigns and landing pages also have their own results. See Sending an email broadcast, Running a campaign and Landing pages.
Reports
Reports brings every channel together for the period you choose:
- Email: emails sent, average open rate, click rate, and failed or bounced sends.
- Lists: active subscribers and a breakdown by list.
- Social: posts published and average engagement per post.
- Search: impressions, clicks, click-through rate and average search position from Google Search Console and Bing, plus your latest site audit score and referring domains.
- Website: sessions and conversions from Google Analytics 4, including sessions for each campaign.
- Revenue: revenue from CRM deals attributed to marketing.
Sections that need a connection tell you what to connect, for example Connect GA4 in Settings or Connect Search Console. See Connecting web analytics.
Website and search data update automatically every night. Use the refresh option on the Reports page to pull today's partial numbers straight away.
ROI
The Marketing ROI page shows whether your marketing is paying off:
- Attributed revenue: the value of won CRM deals that came from marketing. Chorum follows the trail from a campaign to the contact who engaged with it and on to the deal.
- Conversions and landing page Sessions, with a breakdown By source.
- The content you shipped in the period: Email broadcasts, Landing pages and Top content, plus your search performance from Search Console and Bing.
- Marketing spend and ROI.
Attribution works best when your marketing contacts and deals live in the same Chorum CRM, and when your emails, posts and pages are grouped into campaigns.
Alerts
Marketing alerts keeps a history of marketing notifications: keyword ranking changes, A/B test results and notices from automations. Filter by type or show Unread only. Use Acknowledge on each alert, or Acknowledge all, to clear them once you have dealt with them.
Getting useful numbers
- Connect your analytics early. Search and website history only builds up from the day you connect.
- Group work into campaigns so results add up in one place and links carry the campaign's tracking tag.
- Compare like with like. Look at the same period month on month, and allow for holidays and one-off events.
- Prefer clicks and conversions over opens. Some email apps block or pre-load images, which makes open rates less reliable.
